Waterproofing the day
As your photographer, I am no stranger to the unpredictability of weather, and engagement shoots are no exception. God doesn't always follow our plans, but with the right mindset and preparation, we can turn unexpected weather into an opportunity for extraordinary photos!
Preparing for Unexpected Weather:
Here’s how to do it:
Check the Forecast: Keep an eye on the weather forecast leading up to your engagement shoot. This will give you both a heads-up and help you make any necessary adjustments. I’ll be all over this as well, but feel free to reach out to me if the looks like it’s changing!
Plan B Location: Have a backup location in mind that offers shelter from any weather conditions. It could be a charming café, a covered bridge, or an indoor space/ studio with large windows that allow for natural light!
Rain Gear: If things don’t the weather looks like it’s not going to clear and we still want to go forward with the day. I’ll bring with me some clear umbrellas which creates some beautiful intimate photos as you both are staying nice and close to keep dry.
Stay Positive: Remember that some of the most memorable and romantic photos happen in adverse weather conditions. Embrace the moment, and I will capture the magic. I’ve had some of my favourite shoots when God calls it to rain, it’s a tone of fun and make for some beautiful photos too!
Embracing the Weather:
Umbrella Romance: Rain and/ or snow can create a romantic atmosphere. With those clear umbrella’s i’ll bring it can make a passionate kiss under an umbrella an enchanting moment!
Reflections: Wet surfaces can create beautiful reflections, adding depth to your engagement photos. Puddles, wet pavement, or even a rain-soaked window can be used creatively.
Raindrops and Snowflakes: Capturing small details of raindrops and/ or snowflakes falling around you both create this intimate atmosphere where the amongst the busyness of the rain and/or snow there’s beauty and stillness in the moment you two experience.
Emotion Over Perfection: Sometimes, the candid moments of you both laughing or cuddling under an umbrella can be more meaningful than perfectly posed shots. Let your love and joy shine through, no matter the weather!
Remember that unpredictable weather can lead to unique and extraordinary photos that tell a story beyond sunny skies. Your engagement shoot is about capturing your love and connection, regardless of the weather conditions. By preparing for the unexpected and embracing the beauty of rain or snow, you'll not only create memorable images but also have a fun and adventurous experience that strengthens your bond as a couple!
