Couple Photos + Sunset Photo
Let’s be real. Your wedding day is a whirlwind of emotions, and capturing those precious moments is essential for reliving the joy for years to come. So during your bridal photo session, it's so important to ensure that you don’t just “do what you need to do” to get beautiful photos. But allow it to be an authentic time to reflect your love and joy of your wedding!
Trust Your Photographer
One of the most crucial aspects of getting great wedding photos simply comes down to trusting your photographer. So here's how to build and maintain that trust:
Communicate: Before the day discuss your “must-have shots” as well as any concerns you may have well before the wedding day. This will allow more than enough time for you and your photographer to be on the same page when it comes to the prioritises of your wedding day.
Let Go: On the day of the wedding, trust your photographer’s expertise. Allow them to guide you and make creative decisions. Their professional eye will capture moments you might not even notice. There’s a joy in surrendering control and giving it to others.
Lean Into Each Other
Natural Poses: Your photographer will guide you both through prompts or “poses”. This may look like: Leaning into each other, resting your head on your partner’s shoulder, wrapping your arms around each other and even whispering your favourite part of their vows into your partner’s ear.
Close-Up Shots: Alongside beautiful shots of you both looking amazing. It’s important to allow the photographer to get closer and capture all the little details between you two. Majority of the time this will happen when you’re both closing your eyes and resting upon each other. These intimate moments can show off lots of little details that may be missed if further away, but also capture more raw and authentic moments which I know you’ll love!
Movement: There is something so beautiful and simple about a couple who’s just got married walking closely and looking at each other. It’s a great way to relax a little bit more and allow for more candid moments to happen (these are personally my more favourite photos to capture). This can look like a simple walk, a gentle twirl and even practising a first dance ;)
Your couple photo session is such a beautiful opportunity to capture the love that you both share for each other. By trusting your photographer, embracing yourselves and leaning into each other. You’ll create an entire gallery of photos that truly reflect the essence of your relationship. Remember, the best photos come from real moments and emotions, so relax, breathe and and let your love shine through!
