Deciding what day

As your photographer, I understand that every detail counts when it comes to creating beautiful and memorable photos. One of the most crucial aspects that come with planning your engagement shoot is selecting the right date and time to make it all come to life.

Timing Matters:

Timing can make a significant difference in the how you feel during your engagement shoot and how your come out!

Here's why timing is so important:

  • Lighting Conditions: As your photographer the quality of light can greatly impact the aesthetics of your photos. Harsh midday sun can create unflattering creating strong shadows, while dark/ low-light conditions may result in grainy and pixelated images. Choosing the right time of day ensures the best possible lighting for your engagement shoot!

  • Your Comfort: Selecting a time when you and your partner are at your best can make a world of difference in your photos! Avoid scheduling your shoot during stressful or busy days and times in your lives. E.g. Instead of rushing to take photos after a busy work day, consider the weekend, where you might feel more relaxed with your time.

  • Weather: Weather conditions can vary throughout the day, It’s the one factor for your engagement shoot we can’t control. By choosing the right time, you increase the likelihood of having more desired weather conditions for your shoot!

End of the day, if weather is unfavourable for your shoot, I want to ensure this is a special time for you both, I am willing and flexible to reconsider the timing of this.

The beauty of Golden Hour light:

Among the various times of day, the golden hour stands out as my favourite times of day for these reasons:
  • Soft and Warm Tones: Golden hour, which occurs shortly after sunrise and just before sunset, covers everything in a warm, soft, and flattering light. This gentle, diffused light reduces those harsh shadows and creates a romantic, dreamy atmosphere!

  • Beautiful Colours: The golden hour enhances colours, making them more vibrant and rich. It adds a touch of magic to your location, making everything look more enchanting and Idyilic.

  • Reduced Squinting: The angle of the sun during the golden hour is less likely to cause squinting, which can be an issue during midday shoots when the light is most harsh was can cause strong shadows to occur.

  • Ideal for Romance: The warm, inviting ambiance from the golden hour light perfectly complements the romantic nature of engagement shoots.
