Preparing for your shoot
I understand the importance of all planning for the day of your engagement shoot. However, it's vital for you both to prepare as well, so you're able to be in the moment and not sweat the small stuff. Here's a few tips to help you get ready for your engagement shoot to make sure it's a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Staying Hydrated and Well-Rested:
Prioritise Sleep: Getting great amounts of sleep is an amazing tool for looking and feeling your best. So aim for a full night's rest before your engagement shoot to ensure you're energised and alert.
Hydration Matters: Dehydration can lead to fatigue and affect your skin's appearance. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to the shoot to keep your skin glowing and ensure you're feeling your best as dehydration can affect your skin's appearance!
Healthy Meals: Make sure that before your engagement shoot you fuel your body with nourishing foods. A balanced meal before the shoot will help maintain your energy levels throughout the shoot.
Don’t Overthink It:
Plan Ahead: Ensure you've discussed all the details with your partner and me well in advance. Knowing what to expect on the day can help ease anxiety!
Trust Your Photographer: Remember I’m here to guide you both and to make sure we’re able capture your best angles and moments. Trust my guidance and expertise :)
Relax and Be Yourself: Overthinking can lead to stiffness, which may come across as awkward and an unnatural look in your photos. Embrace your natural selves, have fun, and let me capture the genuine moments.
Relaxation Techniques:
Deep Breathing: Practise deep breathing exercises to calm your nerves. Inhale slowly through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale through your mouth. Repeat as needed.
Meditation: Consider a short meditation session to centre yourself and reduce stress. Meditation apps or guided videos can be helpful. If anytime during our shoot don’t hesitate to ask for a moment to centre yourself, I’m here for you both!
Stretching: Gentle stretching can relieve tension and help you feel more relaxed. Spend a few minutes stretching your arms, neck, and shoulders before you head to your shoot.
Positive Affirmations: Remind yourselves why you're doing the shoot. Focus on the love and the joy of what lead you both here to such a special time in your lives!
Preparing for your engagement shoot is not just about what you wear or where you go; it's also about your mindset and well-being. Remember, your engagement shoot is a celebration of your love, and with the right preparation, it can be a joyful and stress-free experience. Trust your me, be yourselves, and let the magic unfold naturally :)
